How to force a sale with Verifone VX 820 and VX 680 terminals

This article covers how to force a sale with Verifone terminals.

Note: You must have processed an authorization before you can process a force sale. For more information, refer to How to process an authorization.

To force a sale, complete the following:

1. Press the green key.

2. Select Pre-Auth > Completion > STAN/INV.

3. Enter the STAN/INV number from the receipt.

4. Press the green key twice.

Note: The amount forced must be within 15% of the previously authorized amount.
